Week 13_Submission 3.2: Critical Reflection

This reflection has two parts, with roughly 250-300 words for each section: 3.2.1      Module learning: Refer to the goals you set yourself at the start of the course. Using what you have learned about critical thinking and reflections, reflect on the extent to which you have achieved (or not) the said objectives. You must also reflect on what you have done in terms of building on your communication and critical thinking skills, as well as what you should do to further improve these skills. Since the first day of Critical Thinking lesson, I learnt about the importance of effective communication. Since I was given a week 1 assignment, with my passon in Civil Engineering, I did my research carefully on the Construction Relevant topic which led to Excellent communication skills are absolute essential to effective leadership. This is especially true in build environment industry. The leader of an engineering or construction firm needs to communicate effectively to all stake...

Individual Research contributions to Group project - Week 8 (S10)

Image
Used Chatgpt to research on what is Ideal, Goal and Gap. Used chatgpt to do research on the group topic: Microsoft Hololens 2 in Civil Engineering. What exactly is Microsoft Hololens 2 in Civil Engineering? How exactly is Microsoft Hololens 2 used in Civil Engineering? What is "Ideal" for Microsoft Hololens 2 used in civil engineering? Explain: "gap" used for microsoft hololens 2 in civil engineering? The use of Microsoft Hololens 2 in civil engineering? Used chatgpt to do the Microsoft Hololens 2 Pitch written in the group project - advantages and disadvantages. Updated as of Week 10. I have written in the Executive Summary. (To be Reviewed). I have done research to try to help the group for the Group Topic. This is thus far the work given by the Team Lead (Aarifeen) which I have put up in the group report: For the literature studies, i.e background, need add images/figures like the one shown in the 4 sample reports. Have to read through and do research then paste ...

Assignment 1: Reader Response Final Draft

Critical Thinking & Communicating Assignment 1: Reader Response (Analysis) The webpage, “What is Revit? Why is Revit So Important?” from Q&A (n.d.) introduces Revit as Building Information Modeling (BIM) software used to create detailed 3D building models in digital format, containing key building information including geometry, quantities, and properties of building components. Revit, developed by Autodesk, is used in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry by stakeholders such as developers, government agencies, engineers, architects, consultants, and construction professionals to plan, design, model, and manage building projects more efficiently. The webpage highlights Revit’s key functions and features, which include 3D modeling and visualization (allowing users to visualize buildings from any angle before construction), multi-user collaboration (enabling stakeholders to work together on the same model simultaneously), construction simulatio...

Reader Response: Autocad Revit #3

Week 4 - Summary + Thesis Draft #1

Topic: Autodesk Revit Summary: Autodesk Revit is a leading Building Information Modeling (BIM) software designed to help architects, engineers, and construction professionals in creating accurate and detailed 3D models of buildings and infrastructure projects. Unlike traditional drafting software, Revit integrates design, documentation, and collaboration into a single platform, allowing users to work with dynamic, data-rich models that evolve throughout the project lifecycle. This real-time updating capability minimizes errors, improves coordination between different project teams, and ensures a more efficient design and construction process.  Revit is widely adopted in the architecture, engineering, and construction industries due to its ability to handle complex structures, its compatibility with various disciplines, and its contribution to sustainability and cost-efficiency. Thesis: Autodesk Revit revolutionizes the architecture, engineering, and construction industries by enh...

Week 3 Buddy Activity - Research Pathway Blogpost

Week 3 Partners Activity - Nic & Chanelle We chose Autodesk Revit. Here are our reasons: Nic: During the 3 years of Diploma studies, we learnt how to use Autodesk 3D Revit even during our internship. Autodesk Revit is the most commonly used technology in the Built Environment Industry along with Autodesk Autocad. Revit is able to draw from basement carpark floor plan to level 1 floor plan all the way up to rooftop level floor plan on it’s own even without autocad. Revit is able to provide 3D View Navigation by turning 360°. This allows for better presentation during meetings across different industries to showcase to viewers from outside view to inside the BTO flat rooms. Chanelle: Ever since learning about Revit from my previous diploma, I’ve been hooked into the software. I find it very freely as it allows me to visualise and broadcast my ideas on a building easily. In my opinion, Revit is the most manageable and user-friendly out of all the autodesk 3D modeling software so far. ...
